The Final Round This Weekend! – Cadwell Park

Countdown to Cadwell begins

Its nearly here and the final round couldn’t be any tighter in every class. Who’s going to hold their nerve and come away as the King of Cadwell?

In Production its down to the wire with Justin Price on 727 points and Stephen Graves on 697. 30 points is nothing so it could go down to the final race of the season in this one. Darren Scott and his team will be having kittens watching this unfold.

In the production rookies we have another battle royal shaping up. Shaun Fairhead (482), Jeremy Steel (472) and Andy Barnes (458) will be giving everything to come out on top and any one of them can walk away with the title of champion rookie.

Likewise in Group 4, Darren Conneely had it much easier earlier in the year, but Chris Geyton is literally snapping at his heels with only 8 pojnts between them. Darren is on 660 points with Chris on 652. Meanwhile Dave Bristow is waiting to pounce should the front two have any misfortunes and still has an outside chance with 599 points.

A resurgent Lee Bamber in the Autos Group 6a, has had an incredible second part of the season, it looked all over at one point with Warren Wilkinson running away with it, but with Warren on 671 points and Lee on 659 this is just going to be incredible to watch it unfold.

In Group 6, Darren has had it his own way this year and is pretty much untouchable with 712 points, a lead of 108 on next place Taylor Sturgess on 604, who has had an amazing season on his machine. But who knows what can happen, and Mad Dog McKenzie is still in with a shout for second place with 550 points.

For the overall championship and the battle for the number 1 plate, the standings are as follows:

1. Justin Price 850 (Production)
2. Darren Conneely 828 (Group 6)
3. Stephen Graves 807
4. Warren Wilkinson 757
5. Lee Bamber 755
6. Chris Geyton 680
7. Taylor Sturgess 665
8. Graham Tatton 644
9. Dave Bristow 636
10. James Lancaster 635

The smart money is on Darren or Justin to take the crown – but anything can happen! The teams will all have the calculators out and every race with have a dramatic effect on both individual and overall championships
